TOURE IS FEELING LIKE FAT
The full extent of the weight issues that led to Kolo Touré taking a banned substance and subsequently being suspended from football for six months has been laid bare in a report that diagnoses the Manchester City player as suffering from a "recognised medical condition" in which he had become "obsessed" with a "misplaced perception that he was fat."
TOURE HOPES TO BE BACK
Manchester City's Kolo Toure has said that he is expecting a return from the suspension imposed after failing the drugs test.
Toure has not played since the Football Association confirmed earlier this month that an A sample from the Ivory Coast international had tested positive for a banned substance.
He is currently awaiting the results of the B sample but has been strongly defended by a number of team-mates and former colleagues.
KOLO WANTS TROPHY
Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has said that the club are now ready to win trophies under manager Roberto Mancini.
Hughes was infamously sacked in December 2009 after beating Sunderland 4-3 at Eastlands with City sixth in the Premier League table.
Kolo Toure told the Daily Mirror: “For sure he will mean that because Mark did his job and Mancini has done his job.
“They’ve both done a very good job. Mark is coming back here and it will be good to see him. I’ll be pleased to see him. He signed me and I had a great time playing under him.
TOURE EQUALISES FOR CITY
Kolo Touré equalised for Manchester city against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier league. Kolo Toure has found an equalizer for Manchester City just a few minutes before the half. As the momentum has shifted to City, Toure found the ball at his feet when defensive partner Vincent Kompany flicked on from a Manchester City corner. While the Citizens have retained the ball better than Wolves, their abilities from open play and in the final third have been quite poor.
NO UNREST IN THE SQUAD
Joe Hart has said that there is no unrest in the Manchester city squad and that Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor have sorted out their differences. Throughout the season there have been consistent rumours about training ground bust-ups, and last week photographers captured Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure scuffling. But Hart believes that team spirit remains strong.
TOURE RETURNS
Kolo Toure has returned from his injury nightmare and is back for Manchester city. Joleon Lescott performed creditably in Kolo Toure's absence at Newcastle but it would be a huge surprise if the Ivorian was not handed an instant recall.
Having blown one chance to reach top spot over Christmas already, City know victory would see them, for a few hours at least, leapfrog neighbours Manchester United, who have an evening kick-off.
TOURE TARGETS WEST HAM WIN
Kolo Touré has set his sights on winning against West Ham United on Saturday. The defender came off early against Bolton last time out after feeling tightness in his calf, sparking fears of a spell on the sidelines.
Thankfully, City have Nigel de Jong, thier version of Javier Mascherano, to fall back on.
But Kolo Touré insists the problem is not as bad as first feared and he is hoping to play against West Ham.
KOLO TOURE ASKS FOR MORE EFFORT
Manchester City defender defender Kolo Toure has said that Manchester city players must work harder. The 29-year-old, a big-money signing from Arsenal in 2009, even believes withholding their wages could motivate them to work harder.
"You need to be honest, even if you hurt people, and there are some players here, I am not scared to say, who are not working hard enough for the team," he was quoted as saying in the News of the World. "Some don't do enough in training but still expect to play."
Kolo Toure added: "We all get big wages at City but some need to work harder.
TOURE EXPLAINS CAPTAINCY ISSUE
Kolo Toure has explained the skipper snub from manager Mancini this season. Kolo Toure became City skipper following his £15 million move from Arsenal last summer and retained the armband following the appointment of Mancini in December.
However, it was Tevez who started the season with the honour of wearing the armband, with Mancini hoping that the Argentina international can follow the example of his countryman and former national team coach Diego Maradona, who proved an inspiration at Italian club Napoli.
TOURE CALLS FOR BALOTELLI DEAL
Kolo Toure has called for a quick deal to sign Mario Balotelli. The two clubs are understood to have been in discussions over a possible transfer for several weeks and it is reported that a conclusion could be reached over the weekend. Balotelli was spotted in the Man City Hospitality Packages on Saturday.
Toure spoilt Balotelli's Italy debut on Tuesday night as he scored the only goal in Ivory Coast's 1-0 friendly win at Upton Park.
